Independence Health System Expands Bariatric Services to Clarion

Independence Health System expanded its bariatric weight loss services to Clarion, PA. Daniel Gagné, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is now seeing patients at 24 Doctors Lane, Suite 102, Clarion. Dr. Gagné specializes in Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery, revisional weight loss surgery, medical weight management, hiatal hernia and paraesophageal hernia repairs. With more than 25 years of surgical experience, Dr. Gagné is a highly skilled board-certified surgeon performing more than 2,500 bariatric surgeries. Dr. Gagné joined the medical staff of Butler Memorial Hospital in 2017 and is Co-Chair of its Bariatric Surgery Program, an accredited Center of Excellence in Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).

Dr. Gagné earned his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed a general surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital, where he was selected Chief Resident for his leadership skills. He then pursued specialty training through a Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital.

Dr. Gagné is a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in the field. He has been recognized among Pittsburgh Magazine’s Top Doctors for the past 3 consecutive years.
