The Emergency Medical Technician Traditional Course will be an entry-level course that will train you to provide basic life support and emergency health care in settings such as an ambulance agencies, hospitals and fire departments. Upon meeting the requirements to complete the course, students will receive a certificate of completion. As a group, the class will do a psychomotor exam after the course completes. After course completion, students will go to a Pearson Vue site to complete the exam for EMT. If students pass both exams, they will officially become a certified EMT.
The next class will likely begin in August 2024. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday night in Ralston Hall at the Penn West Clarion Campus. There is one Saturday class, date TBD.
There is a required application for those interested. Interested applicants must be at least 16 years old to be considered. Applications must be turned in no less than 2 weeks before the first class date.
Overall course cost is due upon acceptance into the course. There is a potential for payment plans if student enrolls early.
