Cardiac Rehabilitation is a comprehensive program designed to help individuals who have experienced some type of cardiac event.

Most insurances provide payment for Supervised Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac events/diagnosis that are covered by insurance:

  • Heart attack within the past 12 months
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery
  • Heart valve repair or replacement
  • Balloon angioplasty or stenting of a coronary artery
  • Heart transplant
  • Stable, chronic heart failure

Our program will provide, for you, an Individualized Treatment Plan to:

  • Learn to exercise safely with physician prescribed exercise
  • Identify your personal risk factors for heart disease
  • Educate you on how to decrease your risk factors to prevent another cardiac event
  • Assist with smoking cessation
  • Assist with nutrition and weight management
  • Monitor and manage blood pressure with diet, exercise and medication management
  • Identify any needs for behavioral modification
  • Develop goals to achieve positive outcomes

How the Program Works

The program lasts 6 to 12 weeks, depending on your needs. You will attend 1 hour long sessions 3 times per week that will consist of exercise on numerous different types of exercise machines. We will base your amount of exercise on your abilities and progression through the program. Each session, you will wear a cardiac monitor while you exercise and we will check your blood pressure before, during and after each session.

We will meet with you periodically throughout the program to assess your progress in meeting you individualized goals. We will provide your physician with reports on your progress midway and at the completion of the program.

Once you have completed the program, you will be independent and confident in your ability to manage your exercise and risk factor modification on your own!
