Pain Care & Management

Are you living with pain that is interfering or limiting you from enjoying life? Whether your pain is in your back, leg, hip, neck, knee, ribs or shoulder, our doctors will work with you to develop a treatment plan specific to your needs. We administer join injections to ease the pain that cannot be repaired with surgery.

Injections are usually done in a series of three. The patient comes to the BHS Clarion Hospital Special Procedures Unit for treatment. The patient is not allowed to drive him or herself home, but normal activity may be resumed the next day.

While not a cure, studies have shown that 75 to 80 percent of patients receive relief from their pain. Other benefits are reduced inflammation, less need for pain medications, and better mobility.

How Do I Get Started?

You’ll need a prescription from your doctor. So, schedule an appointment with your family doctor or SSJ Diagnosis & Rehab (Dr. Thomas Freenock). If your doctor determines that one of these procedures is appropriate for you, you’ll be scheduled for treatment at Clarion Hospital’s Special Procedures Unit. That phone number is 814-226-1962.
