Butler Memorial Hospital physicians, Dr. Tony Maalouf, Dr. Martin Lee and
Dr. Andrew Szabo have achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence/Master
Surgeon in Robotic Surgery
by Surgical Review Corporation. A Center of Excellence/Master Surgeon
in Robotic Surgery accreditation distinguishes Butler Memorial Hospital
from many other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality
of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process
of evaluation.
Status as an accredited organization means Butler Memorial Hospital physicians,
Dr. Tony Maalouf, Dr. Marin Lee and Dr. Andrew Szabo have met nationally
recognized standards. Not all healthcare organizations seek accreditation;
not all that undergo the rigorous on-site inspection process are granted
accreditation.
“Butler Health System has worked diligently toward becoming a Robotic
Surgery Center of Excellence,” stated Ken DeFurio, BHS President
and CEO, “We are proud of Dr. Maalouf and all of the surgeons in
leading our team in achieving this success”.
Healthcare organizations seeking accreditation by SRC undergo an extensive
self-assessment and on-site inspection. This process includes physicians,
nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in the accredited
program. The inspection is consultative and educational, presenting best
practices to help an organization improve its care and services.
