Q&A with Dr. Reginella:
What can a patient expect from a community-based facility like the Women’s Center at BHS?
Dr. Reginella: Patients receive a personalized experience. We have a lot of expertise. We also have a bright and welcoming attitude not only in our staff, but also in our dcor.
How does having meaningful relationships with patients shape your day-to-day routine?
Dr. Reginella: When patients come back to the Center for their diagnoses, or if they’re following up after treatment, they’re more comfortable in our care. We’re rewarded when we’re able to diagnose problems early and when patients come back and they’re doing well.
What has the Women’s Center been up to outside of the office, to help the community?
Dr. Reginella: We participate in free health screenings every year, usually in October, in partner with Adagio Health, which helps patients who may be uninsured or underinsured. We use our mobile unit to bring technology to our patients throughout the county.
How did you decide to become a radiologist?
Dr. Reginella: As I progressed through medical school, I began diagnosing patients, and I thought it was one of the most challenging parts of the practice of medicine. When I’d begin making my rounds, I’d talk with other colleagues about what we thought the patients’ ailments were, and in the end, we usually consulted the radiologist, who would almost always know what the problem was. I saw satisfaction in that and discovered that diagnosing problems was the greatest reward because it was the first step towards making the patient well again.
What’s the best part of your work as a radiologist at the Women’s Center?
Dr. Reginella: I’m a part of this community I like it here. I feel that it’s a privilege to be here and help my neighbors.
