Our Services

We provide a full range of cutting-edge technologies and services designed to meet all of your health needs. Below is a short description of some of the services offered by BHS Women’s Center.

Digital Mammography
A mammogram is an imaging test used to screen for breast problems such as cancer by detecting issues like tissue abnormalities or cysts.

Breast Biopsy
A breast biopsy removes a sample of breast tissue that is then examined to check for breast cancer. A biopsy is typically done to test an abnormality found during an examination, mammogram or ultrasound.

Bone Density
Bone density testing is a non-invasive test that is used to measure bone loss. It is often performed on the lower spine and hip and occasionally at the wrist. Bone density measuring can help to determine fracture risk.

Breast Surgery
Breast surgery for cancer removes the disease and includes biopsy, lumpectomy, partial mastectomy, radical mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. We also have skilled plastic surgeons that perform reconstructive breast surgery.

Stereotactic Biopsy
This technique involves centering the area to be tested in the window of a specially-designed instrument. Computer imaging helps to ensure that proper samples are taken.

Ultrasound-guided Biopsy Exams
This technique uses ultrasound to confirm correct needle placement. This ensures that the exact location of the abnormality is biopsied.

MRI Breast Scans and Biopsy
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio waves to make images of the breast. This test can show problems not seen on a mammogram or ultrasound.

Abdominal Ultrasound
An abdominal ultrasound uses reflected sound waves to produce an image of the organs and other structures in the upper abdomen.

Pelvic Ultrasound
A pelvic ultrasound uses sound waves to create an image of the organs and structures in the lower abdomen and pelvic area.

Obstetrical Ultrasound
Obstetrical ultrasound helps determine any issues with a pregnancy. This procedure is often a standard step of prenatal care.
