Balance Therapy
Who Benefits From Balance Therapy?
People who have sustained a head injury- People with injuries or infections affecting the inner ear
- People suffering from dizziness, including positional vertigo (dizziness caused by head movements)
- People with lower body weakness or loss of flexibility, making them susceptible to falling
- People with central nervous system movement disorders
People suffering from balance disorders may experience:- Periods of dizziness or light-headedness, especially when making sudden movements
- Falls
- Difficulty standing from a seated or lying position
- Unsteadiness while walking

Our therapists will evaluate you and develop a custom exercise program.
The exercises are geared toward helping you improve your balance by:- Improving your gait pattern
- Improving lower limb and neck flexibility and strength
- Teaching you to compensate for visual, sensory, or inner ear deficits
- Decreasing symptoms of dizziness
What Causes Balance Disorders?
- Inner ear injury, surgery, or infection
- Certain medications or combinations of medications
- Loss of sensation in the lower limbs
- Stroke
- Visual impairments
- Migraine headaches
- Head injuries
- Neurologic disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s Disease
