Meet Dr. David Melniczek, an accomplished general surgeon with uncommon skills. He joins Dr. Tony M. Maalouf, Dr. Victor E. Nieto and Dr. Meng-G Martin Lee as a part of the BHS Surgery team.

Dr. Melniczek takes extra time to care for his patients and makes sure they understand their conditions — even if it often means long days.

Though he performs the usual array of general procedures, Dr. Melniczek specializes in minimally-invasive weight-loss surgeries and laporoscopic procedures. Some of the other services he performs include:

• Minimally-invasive colon, hernia and gastrointestinal surgeries
• Breast and skin cancer surgeries with sentinel lymph nodes
• Dialysis access (fistula, grafts, catheters)
• Endocrinology (thyroid, parathyroid)
• Anorectal surgeries (hemorrhoids, fistulas, fissures)
• In-office surgeries for “lumps and bumps”

Before joining the BHS Surgery team, Dr. Melniczek graduated first in his major at Bucknell University and received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He was also Chief Resident at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
