According to the Community Health Assessment
conducted each year by the Butler Health System,
stroke is the third leading cause of death in Butler
County. The Stroke Program at Butler Memorial
Hospital is designed to address this health care
issue at all levels.

In addition to providing education to the public
and EMS personnel, the Stroke Program offers
more treatment options for patients arriving at
BMH including the latest drug therapies that can
help reduce the effects of a stroke in its earliest
stages.

A comprehensive program of education (including
a community screening program), emergency
response, treatment and rehabilitation, BMH's Stroke Program will address both the needs of those at risk
and those suffering a stroke.
