Oakview Ladies Golf League Donates Over $12,000 to Butler Health System

(BUTLER, PA)—The Oakview Ladies Golf League held its tenth annual breast cancer tournament at the Slippery Rock golf course in August, raising over $12,000 for the Women’s Imaging Center at Butler Memorial Hospital.

“The continued support and dedication of the Oakview Ladies League helps us create a vision of a better health for the women of Butler County,” said Peggy Wright, supervisor of the Women’s Imaging Center. “I see great things happening in our future.”

Since the tournament began in 2000, over $40,000 has been donated to the Women’s Imaging Center, and 100 percent of the proceeds go to benefit the center. In 2008, the center used the money raised to help fund state-of-the-art digital mammography. In years previous years, proceeds helped fund a mobile mammography unit and the associated costs to improve the health of women in Butler County.

Breast cancer affects one in five women. For more information on the Women’s Imaging Center, call 724.284.4850.
