Area Surgeon Joins BMH Medical Staff

(BUTLER, PA)—David M. Melniczek, M.D., has been appointed to the medical staff at Butler Memorial Hospital. Dr. Melniczek brings a wealth of surgical and medical expertise to BMH. He also currently practices at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Surgeons and licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, Dr. Melniczek previously practiced in both Denver and San Diego. He received his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After finishing his medical degree, Dr. Melniczek completed an internship in surgery at the University of Colorado, followed by a second surgical internship and residency at Exempla St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. Afterwards, Dr. Melniczek took a position at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pa., in surgical residency and as chief of surgery.

Dr. Melniczek is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Colorado Medical Society, and the Clear Creek Valley Medical Society. He has conducted and presented research in a variety of areas from thyroid cancer to surgical procedures for the morbidly obese.
