Family Practice Physician Joins BMH Medical Staff
September 28, 2009 — (BUTLER, PA) — Stacey Curran, D.O., has been appointed to the medical staff at Butler Memorial Hospital and has joined Butler Family Practice. Dr. Curran comes to BMH from Absolute Primary Care in Cranberry Township, PA, where her medical experience ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Dr. Curran received her Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University and her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing her internship and family practice residency, both at the Medical Center in Beaver, Pa., Dr. Curran completed a sports medicine fellowship at Saint Vincent Health System in Erie, PA, where she gained a working knowledge in how to manage non-operative orthopedic issues and other sports related health areas.
Board certified in both family practice and sports medicine, she is a member of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, the American College of Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Curran has also published and presented lectures on a variety of topics including sports medicine and trauma. An avid athlete, Dr. Curran served as a physician at the Erie Marathon and the Erie Triathlon, examining athletes and attending to various sports injuries that occurred during the competition.
