BMH Women's Imaging Center Featured at National Conference

May 20, 2009 — (BUTLER, PA) — The Women's Imaging Center at Butler Memorial Hospital was featured for its work in integrating its new digital mammography into its existing PACS (Picture Archiving Communication) system at the 2009 National Interdisciplinary Breast Center Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Held March 14-18, the conference welcomed over 700 attendees from across the nation.

The integration of digital mammography and PACS makes it possible for doctors to view digital mammography images from any computer. "We are happy to provide state-of-the-art healthcare technologies to the people of our region," said Peggy Wright, supervisor of the Women's Imaging Center at BMH. "By integrating these technologies, we eliminated the need to construct a digital work station, allowing our radiologists access to all modalities and putting digital images at physicians' fingertips."
