BMH Echocardiography Moves to Several Outpatient Locations in Butler County

February 14, 2008 - (BUTLER, PA) - The HeartCenter at Butler Memorial Hospital is expanding its reach by opening electrocardiology (EKG) services at several Outpatient Services of BMH locations throughout Butler County.

Beginning Feb. 19th patients will be able to receive their EKG testing services at the following locations:

• Outpatient Services of BMH at Butler Commons-- 250 H Butler Commons
• Outpatient Services of BMH in Chicora - 160 Medical Center Road
• BHS WholeHealth in Cranberry Township - 2001 Ehrmann Road
• Outpatient Services of BMH in Butler -- 480 East Jefferson St.
• Outpatient Services of BMH in Sarver -- 149 Mulone Drive
• Outpatient Services of BMH in Slippery Rock-- 561 Kelly Boulevard

"Each of these sites currently offer walk-in lab and x-ray testing, and with this addition, patients now have the ability to have walk-in EKG testing done away from the hospital's main campus in a location more convenient to where they live and work," says Stephanie Roskovski, Vice President of Outpatient Services at Butler Health System. "This move helps us reach out across the region with more outpatient services while reducing traffic at the main campus as we prepare to begin for our construction and expansion project."

Patients needing blood work, x-ray testing or EKG testing, including pre-admission testing prior to surgery, can now walk into any of these facilities and get what they need without an appointment.

In addition to this expansion of services, outpatient cardiac rehabilitation and the echocardiography/vascular ultrasound lab have also relocated, so patients needing outpatient testing have better access away from the inpatient campus.

Cardiac Rehabilitation is now located at the BHS east campus (the former Morgan II tower) on the fourth floor. The facility is open for patients from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Outpatient cardiac rehab can be reached by calling 724-284-4697.

The outpatient Echo/PV labs have also moved to the Jefferson Street outpatient site. Two new rooms have been added to the existing echo lab at that location for additional outpatient accessibility. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional weekend hours will be added in the near future. Testing at this site includes echocardiography, Carotid Doppler and Venous Doppler studies.
