BMH Ranks Second In Best Places to Work for Western Pennsylvania

October 26, 2006 - (BUTLER, PA) - Butler Memorial Hospital was recently recognized one of the 50 Best Places to Work in western Pennsylvania by the Pittsburgh Business Times. BMH was second in the 10 employers that made the list in the large employer category. BMH ranked 22 overall out of 50.

“We are happy to join the ranks of these great area employers,” says Joseph A. Stewart, president and CEO of Butler Health System. “We are especially grateful because this award is based upon feedback our employees said about us.”

Quantum Market Research from Omaha, Nebraska conducted on-line surveys with employees of more than 120 Pittsburgh area companies to form the basis for the final ranking scores used to recognize rankings. There were three categories of employers: small – up to 50 employees; medium – 51 to 150; large – 151 and above – from Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Facilities are rated on team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contributions, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.

“Hundreds of BMH employees completed the Best Places to Work survey and
many employees commented about the added benefits we have implemented to make not only the community but our employees healthier,” says Stephanie Roskovski, Special Assistant to the President for a Healthy Workplace.

“Employers are ranked based on the survey results and feedback submitted from their employees.”

There are 30,000 employers in the region and only three businesses in Butler County made the list of the 50 Best Places to Work in western Pennsylvania: BMH, McKesson and Pittsburgh Marriott North, the later two both in Cranberry Township.
