BHS Foundation Plans for Annual Crystal Ball, Seat Reservations Being AcceptedSeptember 24, 2004 - (BUTLER, PA) – Plans are under way for the fourth annual Crystal Ball, the black tie fundraiser for the Butler Health System Foundation. “An Evening of Lighted Elegance” will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2004, at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry Township beginning at 5:30 p.m.The evening will include a cocktail hour, dinner, silent auction, basket auction, a live auction of specially designed and decorated Christmas trees, and dancing to the sound of Dr Zoot, a Latin swing band. Silent auction items to be featured include a computer system and a vacation to Hilton Head, SC. The custom-designed Christmas trees will be delivered fully decorated to the homes of the highest bidders. “Each year this event grows in popularity and draws in more coveted auction items,” says Fred Bennitt, chairman of the BHS Foundation board of directors. “We are grateful for a dedicated group of volunteers that helps us to coordinate this event and increase proceeds to support Women’s Services at Butler Memorial Hospital.” The 2004 Crystal Sponsor is Mine Safety Appliances. Other sponsors include Sylvan, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Penn Telecom, UPMC Health Plan, SEI Investments, PNC Investments and Bear Metallurgical. All proceeds benefit Women’s Services of Butler Memorial Hospital. Proceeds of more than $80,000 – a new record -- were raised during the event last year to benefit women's surgical services at Butler Memorial Hospital and helped pay for the renovations to create a women’s surgical center on the third floor of the hospital.
