Annual Appeal

The BHS Foundation annually appeals for gifts from BHS physicians, employees and board members as well as community members and businesses. Volunteers make personal appeals to these groups, cultivating support for the important programs and services at BMH.

The goal of the 2007 Annual Giving Campaign is $150,000. Kathryn Helfer is the Campaign Chair.

How We've Helped

Although gifts may be designated to a specific purpose fund at the donor's request, the Annual Giving Campaign raises unrestricted donations to support programs and services throughout hospital. Some recent examples include:

• 3 main: a NeoBlue LED Phototherapy Unit for treatment of newborn jaundice and a Bilichek for instant and painless measurement of newborn total serum bilirubin levels
• 6 main: a defibrillator
• Cardiology: scales for CHF, Women's Heart Health Program materials
• Emergency: helmets for children through the Skateboard and scooter safety project.
• Nursing: new computer software
• Oncology: establishment of a tumor registry
• Radiology: a software upgrade for bone density testing
